I had Mr. Dunn as my Middle School Principle at Valleywood. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

You will always  have a special place in my heart.

Mr. Dunn was a well loved and well respected  teacher/principal and most of all a true best friend with a heart of pure gold. He was someone who was kind, loving, and very caring and I couldn't of  asked for a better friend. If you was having a bad day Mr. Dunn definitely made things better and brighter. Mr. Dunn loved us all. Mr. Dunn never pushed anyone away and always had time for everyone. He was never selfish and always respectful towards everyone. Mr. Dunn never hated anyone nor did he have anything bad to say. He was a very reliable man who was  always there. Now heaven has a wonderful Angel. Gone but NEVER FORGOT!!

Richard Dunn was a kind and caring man.  After our older son broke his arm, he needed a tape recorder to record classes, assignments, etc.  The first day he had it at Valleywood, it was stolen.  Mr. Dunn came to our home with a replacement.  He was that kind of man.

Mr. Dunn was an awesome principal and administrator whom we all loved and respected.  He was kind and caring in all that he did.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing and send our sympathies and prayers to his family.

Richard Dunn was my middle school principle he was a kind and generous man he will be greatly missed. God Bless him and his family.

Mr. Dunn was an awesome teacher not only in the classroom, but he was also a great driver's ed teacher.  He had the patience of a saint when it came to teaching 16 yr old kids to drive.  I have very fond memories of him  RIP Mr. Dunn.

Mr. Dunn was principal when I came to Valleywood as a new student. He was welcoming and kind. I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about his passing remember when he came to our 10year class reunion of the class of 70

He was a great man, and very good  at sorting out the truth and being fair and compassionate. He will be missed. There is a special place in heaven for good people like him. May God bless his loved ones with love and peace

Mr. Dunn was a great man who seemed to enjoy the incredibly difficult job of being the best middle school principal.  Prayers to his family.

Good man. He had the utmost respect for my family, and we have the utmost respect for him.  My mother had the privilege of taking care of his father when I attended middle school with him as my principle.  Though most of my visits with him were with a red faced giant,  I will always remember his smile and the way he squeezed my shoulder as he escorted me back to class.  R.I.P. Mr Dunn.

Mr.Dunn was a wonderful man! He had helped me get through rough times at school, and was there for me no matter what. You will be greatly missed, but you will be in our hearts forever! I was never able to thank you, but I know you knew how we all felt. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Til we meet again....

I first met Mr. Dunn as my Assistant Principal in East Kentwood High School.  He also had all three of my younger sisters.  Then after time passed he was Principal at Valleywood Middle School and he had my son and daughter.  More time passed and he retired, but would sub and fill in for vacation or medical leaves of various administrators of Kentwood Public Schools.  It was during one of those medical coverages he hired me in at Glenwood Elementary.  Mr Dunn has had more impact on so many students and families than he ever knew.  My family loved and appreciated him, my own children feel the same way.  He was one of the rare fantastic people who truly cared about all students regardless of any individualizing characteristics.  Education was his true calling and he performed well!.

Rest in peace Mr Dunn. You were the best principal ever.

Mr. Dunn was one of the best principals I've ever had and almost every memory I have of being a student at Valleywood includes him. My prayers are with his family. He'll be missed greatly.

Mr Dunn, you were one of the most positive influences many of us had at East Kentwood.  You showed us respect and kindness as our assistant principal.  You were a gentle giant.

He loved all his kiddos. He was the best principal ever! He helped me get out of trouble and I will never forget him! He has touched so many lives.  A great man!

I remember having Mr. Dunn for History when I was in high school.  That was before he became Principal at Valleywood Middle School.  He was such a great teacher, and wonderful man.  Rest in peace my friend!

Mr. Dunn you will be greatly missed by many. You may have looked completely scary to many of us middle schoolers but I know you were a giant teddy bear. This saddens me that you are no longer with us. Prayers and love to your family in this time of need.

Mr Dunn was a terrific Principal and mentor to all of the kids at Valleywood MiddleSchool!  He always encouraged the parents to be involved with their school and kids. Godspeed, Mr Dunn!
