Dr. Robert Hudson was always a delight to work with!  A generous, capable leader, he also had a heart of compassion and was cheerful and kind. I was amazed when he played classical guitar at a talent show.  He was a master musician!  He could slip from speaking  English into Spanish seamlessly.   At lunch one day, a group of us went to La Michoacana  where he ordered “calda” (soup). It was a dirty-looking brown broth with beef bones, potatoes, onions and  ears of corn floating in it. It looked unappetizing, but smelled so, so good!  He knew better than the rest of us gringos what to order!  
Condolences to his precious family.  Know that he is dearly loved and admired.  


It's difficult to grasp that Dr. Hudson is no longer on this earth.   My life was enriched having worked with and for him--a gifted leader, mentor and kind friend.  Condolences and blessings to his family whom he adored.

Robert touched so many of us in many different ways.  To me, among other things, he was leader, mentor, role-model,  inspiration, and friend.  Robert's love for the Lord was the guiding motivation of his life, as well as his love for his wife and family.  
We grieve together with each one who has had the privilege of knowing Robert Hudson.   It is a comfort to know that even though he is currently absent from us, he is now "present with the Lord."  Our prayers are with Betty and the entire Hudson family.

Dr. Hudson was like a second father to me and one of the top two leaders/managers I ever worked under and for.  Also, he was a great spiritual witness within the Christian Higher Education workplace.  Someone who is in a position of leadership and can navigate the politics of Christian higher education and remain a truthful servant and witness for the Lord is extremely rare and one that I have come to appreciate over the years.  I know Dr. Hudson is in a better place and playing songs with the angels in heaven.  Prayers and condolences to Betty, sons, grandchildren, and extended family.

I worked in Dr. Hudson"s department at LeTourneau University. He was a great leader and man of faith. Leaving the office one afternoon he asked me a question about church. I was struggling with some life issues and the Holy Spirit spoke through him. He told me in his precise, confident voice that my choice had already been made. God had spoken peace to me through His servant. I am so grateful for those words that he spoke to me.  That conversation was over 17 years ago and I will never forget it.

Dr. Hudson was a wonderful boss, leader, and friend.  He hired me to work at LeTourneau University and I learned so much from him about leadership.  He gave you a job to do, the authority to do it and expected the best from you.

He loved people and those he worked with. Almost weekly he convened  the “kitchen cabinet “ where we all sat around the break room and shared stories  and talked about how to solve issues of the week. Those are some very  memorable times to me filled with laughter and joy.  Robert made them so. 

He was very proud of his years growing up as a missionary kid in Guatemala and loved to practice his Spanish at every opportunity.  Every time we would go out to eat from work , it was at a Mexican restaurant!

Robert was also proud of his wife and sons and always had a story about their accomplishments which were many.  It was obvious how much he loved his family. 

Dr. Robert Hudson … a friend I will always remember!

Dr Hudson was one of a kind.  He loved his family so much and would talk about the boys and all their accomplishments (which were many) with the biggest grin. He was a man who talked the talk and walked the walk. Dr Hudson was such an encourager and urged us all to the best that we could be. He believed in leadership by example and was the best boss and friend a person could ask for. I’m so blessed God allowed our paths to cross. 
Betty, Robbie, Bentley and family I’m so sorry for your loss. He will always be remembered and I know he will always be treasured by each of you and your families. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. 

Dr. Hudson was such an outstanding boss, always kind, considerate, honest, helpful, supportive, wise...I'm just shocked that he's left us.   The glorious thing is that he's reached his heavenly home.
To Betty, the boys and family, my sincere condolences.   Thank you for sharing Dr. Hudson with us for a while at LeTourneau University.   He was one of a kind....and I was blessed to know him.

I believe few people were loved and respected as much as Dr. H. What a joy he was to work with!  He lead by word and example, loved people  and always took time to listen.  He often joined a group of us eating lunch in our little kitchen area at LETU and inevitably someone would turn the conversation to something they thought needed improvement.  One such time Dr. H decided we would set up weekly "kitchen cabinet" meetings. We could discuss any subject; the only rule was if you brought a complaint, you also offered a solution!   He knew how to manage people and still have fun.  I will always be grateful to have known such a man, Dr. Hudson, my friend.
