Shirley spent many dedicated years working in accounts payable, where she developed a deep love for numbers and precision. But beyond her career, Shirley’s heart belonged to the simple joys of life. She loved the beach, the sun on her face, and the sound of waves. She found delight in spontaneous conversations with strangers and had an immense, unwavering love for humanity. If she had two dollars, she’d gladly give one away—especially to someone in need. Though she never owned a pet, she adored animals. Her favorite things included the timeless music of Johnny Mathis, laughing along with Steve Harvey’s Family Feud, savoring meals from Red Lobster and Popeyes, a crisp glass of Chardonnay, a cold Coke, and of course, cheesecake. Shirley was known to light up the dance floor whenever music played—dancing was her joy.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Helen Ray Campbell; her grandmother Angeline Sayles; her brother-in-love Fred Page; and her dear cousins Nathan Sayles and Ernestine Harvey.
Shirley leaves behind her only daughter and son-in-law, Angel Lorraine Roberts and Alfredo Roberts; and her cherished grandchildren, Avery, Austin, and Alyssa Roberts. She also leaves in memory her first and only love, Ernest Brown Jr., lovingly known as Buddy. Surviving family members include her sister-in-love Yolanda Page, brother-in-love William Brown, and cousins Vivian Tucker, Louis Ray, Brenda, Cynthia, and Gerri Sayles. She also leaves behind her beloved grand pup, Arlo Blu Roberts, who brought her endless joy.
