Sloan grew up on the Gulf Coast in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Returning to Texas in 2015, she finished high school at Wakeland in Frisco, earned her Associate Degree at Collin College and was pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Sloan had a persevering spirit and a joy for life; she lit up a room with her smile. She embraced challenges with courage, ever optimistic. Her enthusiasm and determination were evident in the pursuit of her goals. She pursued activities with vigor, whether it was hiking in national parks on family vacations, running with the cross country team, starting a job, or training at her favorite gym. Sloan was an avid sports fan; she loved attending sporting events and concerts with her friends. She was passionate in her faith and she awoke each day with hope, confident it would be a good day. Her courage and the beauty of her spirit will be forever with those who loved her.
Sloan is survived by her parents, Steve Kindsvater and Cindy Kindsvater, her sister Jade and brother Drake; grandparents Tom and Candy Kindsvater, Bob and Jana Lewis and Shaleh Lewis.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, in honor of Sloan’s love for animals, a donation to Second Chance SPCA of Plano Texas, secondchancespca.org in Sloan’s name would be appreciated.
