

Susie Dell Clements Crossland, 92, passed away October 18, 2024, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on October 12, 1932, to parents Sadie and Enoch Clements of Roff, Oklahoma. She had four sisters: Billie, Joy, Helen, Lucille and one brother Paul.
At 16 years old she moved to Dallas and rented a room at an elderly couple’s home. While working in Dallas she met Thomas Blackwell Crossland. When Thomas returned from the Korean War they married.
Continuing her education, she became a Registered Nurse. During this time, she studied art. Particularly oil painting. Through years of practice and study, Sue became an accomplished artist and specialized in French Impressionist oil painting. She was invited to the French Embassy in Washington D.C. and there received the Matigan award for excellence in Impressionism.
Susie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years Thomas Crossland, who passed in 2022.
She is survived by her three children, Tom, Sherrie and Richard; seven grandchildren, Steve, Amy, Katie, Allison, Thomas Boone, John, and Jacob; her great grandchildren include Harrison, Claire, Jack, George, Lilly, Titus, Ruby Rose, Maggie May, Donald, Thomas Barrett and Jacob Jr.
Susie was a kind and loving woman with strong ties to friends and family. Above all, she believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:30am with family to start receiving guests at 10am. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas.
