Thomas K. White passed from this life on to his eternal home on April 10, 2018 in Frisco, Texas. Tom was born on November 21, 1938 to his parents, William Oscar White, Jr. and Imogene Nelms in Whitewright, Texas. Raised by a single mom, Tom shared his childhood with his sister, Linda. Tom was very close to his mother, Imogene, who was recently lost March 24, 2018. One of his fondest childhood memories was eating hamburgers on the weekend with his mom.
Tom had many accomplishments including ownership of Trans Global Travel Agency, Fresh Seafood Shoppe, and Horizon Realty of The Colony. However, his proudest career accomplishment was developing the 64 lot listings by Dr. Paul Kennedy located in Wynnwood Haven Estates; where he helped build the community as it is today.
Tom married the love of his life, Carol Sue Porter; together, they had one son, Alex Christopher and three sons by a previous marriage: Craig, Stephen, Bart. Tom will always be remembered as a loving pillar of his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Every time his family would visit him, he would say “it was a good day”.
Tom enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with the boys, cruising the Panama Canal, and scuba diving in Mexico and Aruba. He valiantly saved his friend, Bob Bader, VP of American Airlines, on a scuba trip and was awarded Buddy of the Year. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake house on Lake Texoma.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar White and Imogene Nelms White; sons, Craig Allen and Bart Anthony and his brother, Steve. He is survived by his wife, Carol Porter White; his children, Stephen Kyle, and Alex Christopher (Deborah); his grandchildren, Brandon Avery (Samantha), Justin, Kristian, Nathan Christopher, Jason Alexander; his great granddaughter, Natalie. Also, sisters, Linda Schneider and Cyndi McGuire, brothers, Rick and JoBill; along with many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful people at Aspen Hospice Care, for the hours, days, and months for the love and care that they have given to Tom and Carol.
