

Charles was born in Huntly, VA on March 20, 1934. He was the son of the late John Addison Brooks and Elizabeth Bell Turner. He was a caretaker on the LL Voight Farm in Flint Hill for many years. He moved to Warrenton, VA where he worked on Loretta Farm along with his late wife Jessie Brooks for many years. He was Baptist by faith.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Charles C. Brooks, and wife Martha of Unison, his step-son Charlie H. Morton and wife Clara of Barboursville and two step-grandchildren, Charlie H. Morton and Adrian Smith and one step-great-grandson, Milton Smith, his sister-in-law Katherine Brooks of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces and nephews.
Charles was known to some people as Charlie, Lightning, and Temp Brooks. He enjoyed telling jokes, fishing, wrestling, football and being among friends and relatives.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal VA with the Reverend Eugene Ford presiding. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
