Ruby Virginia Carter

Went to be with the Lord on February 19th, 2015 at Heritage hall, where she was a resident for 15 years.

Ruby was born in Buena Vista, VA on February 5th, 1913. She was the wife of the late Raymond G. Carter, Sr. of Riverton, VA.

Ruby is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Derflinger and husband Darrell; Lois Marchi and husband Steve, and a former daughter-in-law Carol Carter, all of Front Royal, VA. She is also survived by three sons, Raymond G. Carter, Jr. and Kenneth Carter of Front Royal, VA; Robert Carter and wife Nancy of Winchester, VA. She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Chittum of Buena Vista, VA; two daughter-in-laws; Anna Mae Carter and Mary Frances Carter of Front Royal, VA.

Ruby was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal, VA for many years.

Later in life she joined the Riverton United Methodist Church. She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She loved all animals, especially cats.

Family visitation will be held at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home on Monday, February 23rd ,2015 at 11AM. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12PM and be conducted by Bobby Reynolds. Pallbearers will be: Tommy Derflinger, Scott Derflinger, Jerry Carter, Jake Proko, Richard Williams, and Jeff Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hall Nursing Home, 400 West Strasburg Road, Front Royal, VA.

Interment will be held at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Waterlick, VA.
