Alan A. Avens, 47, of Fort Collins, passed away April 5, 2015. Alan was born on August 12, 1967 in Fort Collins, CO to John (Jack) Avens and Joan Avens (maiden name Myers). He graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1985 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture from Colorado State University in 1993. He was married to Elizabeth Avens (maiden name Littler) from 1993 to 2014. He was owner and president of LandEscapes, a landscaping company, from 1999 until his passing. Alan enjoyed skiing, camping, and hiking in the mountains, boating, and spending time with family and friends. Alan is survived by his two sons, Tanner Avens (age 19) and Ryker Avens (age 12); his mother and father; his sister, Audrey Hubbell, and her husband, Jim Hubbell; and his sister, Heather Avens, and her husband, Steve Kadlec. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his children (make payable to Tanner Avens) in care of Resthaven Funeral Home.
