

Albert C. Evans, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Wellington, Colorado, passed away July 20, 2014. Albert was born January 27, 1931 to Emma and Bert Evans in Fort Collins, Colorado. He attended school in Wellington, Colorado. On September 12, 1956 Albert married the Love of his life, Erma Kahl. They moved from Wellington, Colorado to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1961.
During his life Albert worked at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming with Civil Engineers from 1950 to 1986. In August 1951 he we drafted from his job to serve in the Army in the Korean War, serving in both Korea and Japan until July 1953. After his return from the war, he continued his work at Warren where he received an annual Safe Driving Award along with many Letters of Commendation.
After his retirement in 1986, Albert continued working part time in the Summer for Laramie County Roads and Grounds. He and his family spent as much time as possible in the mountains, going weekly Thursday night through Sunday. He loved music and just going for a ride in the car as well. Albert belonged to Burns Masonic Lodge #41 and V.F.W. 1881. He was also a history buff, worked on many people’s cars, and restored several cars and trucks. He also loved fishing, gardening, and building projects. He adored his wife and family and was always there to help anyone in need. He loved nature and watching animals in the wild.
Albert dearly loved his animals and leaves behind Dusty, Cody, and Bell. He will be remembered for his big smile and laughter that was always shared with family and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his Parents Emma and Bert Evans of Wellington, Wife, Erma Evans, Brothers Jim Evans of Cheyenne and Merritt Evans of Opportunity, Montana, and Sister Norine Jones of Wellington, Colorado.
Albert is survived by Daughter, Shelley Evans of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Sister Ida Mae Nix of Windsor, Colorado; Hazel Louise Babcoke of Wellington, Colorado, as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services with Burial to follow will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, 10:00 am with a visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 South Highway 287, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80525. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 8426 South Highway 287, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80525.
