
Anita Sue Gibson was born Anita Sue Gremore to Alvin Sibley and Mayme Gremore in New Madrid County, Missouri, on January 11, 1937. She married Harry Lee Gibson on January 11, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Known to everyone by the name Sue, she was a devoted, supporting and loving wife, mother and homemaker. During that time, she raised 6 children and spent time ministering to Colorado State University Foreign Students. Sue was a member of the Cache la Poudre Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution, during which she was chapter regent for two consecutive terms.
After Harry retired from CSU, they moved to Hong Kong for the next 5 years, where she immersed herself in the Chinese culture and made many life-long friends. Since returning from Hong Kong, Sue and Harry have spent retirement for several years in Kerrville, Texas and most recently in Frederick, Colorado. She was a member of the Baptist Church and constantly supported her family and church in prayer.
Sue is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harry L. Gibson, currently of Windsor; one brother, Charles Gremore of Memphis Tennessee; one sister, Darlene Cagle of Scott City Missouri; her children: Steven Gibson of Frederick, Colorado, Grant Gibson of Parker, Colorado, Suzanne Penner of Fairfield, Texas, Paul Gibson of Kalispell, Montana, Craig Gibson of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Alisa Gibson of Fort Collins, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and two great-grand children.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Inurnment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
