Betty was born on December 3, 1928, just one of six daughters welcomed by Lee and Frances Taylor. She was born and raised in a sod hut in Goodland, Kansas. She started school at the age of four so that her older sister wouldn’t be left to attend by herself. She finishes high school in Goodland and then ventured out into the world.
On July 23, 1949, Betty married Keith William Aschebrock in Burlington, Colorado, and they remained happily so until the time of Keith’s passing in 2018. They moved to Fort Collins in 1964 and raised three children together. Betty held various jobs throughout her working life. She worked as a cook in a Wisconsin State Institution, at the Larimer County Clerk’s Office in Fort Collins, and in production at Teledyne/Water Pik. Her most important job of all and the one she took the most pride in was being a wife and mother.
Betty enjoyed gardening, working with stained glass, crocheting, and sewing. She belonged to the RLDS in Fort Collins, though she hadn’t attended in years. She loved her children and her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. She will truly be missed.
Betty is survived by her children, Ardis Rauschkolb (and husband Frank) of Fairview, Oregon, Gary Aschebrock of Fort Collins, and Pamela Sutherin of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Phillip & Katie Rauschkolb of Troutdale, Oregon, Cassidy Aschebrock, Megan Trosko, and Cody Aschebrock, all of Phoenix, Arizona; and by her great-grandchildren, Mason Rauschkolb, Jalen Rauschkolb, Sadie Aschebrock, Dominic Trosko, and Olivia. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Dekruif.
Along with her late husband Keith Aschebrock, Betty is greeted in Heaven by her sisters, Margaret Brammeir, Joanne Southards, Doris Green, and Mary Jane Boyer.
