Robert “Bob” Lee Lauber was a pillar in the Roscoe, Illinois community and Kinnikinnick School District #131, retiring as superintendent in 2011, after first being a teacher and principal. He was a true patriot, proudly serving his country as a U.S. Army colonel.
Bob will be laid to rest with honors at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 2:00pm. He will eternally overlook the mountains and plains he was so fond of. Since a part of his heart remains in Roscoe, there will be a future memorial service at the Roscoe United Methodist Church Memory Garden.
Bob was a devout Christian, dedicated to education, and a steadfast man of few words. When he spoke, you listened! He was happiest being with his family, cheering on his Alma Mater KU and enjoying the great outdoors. We are forever grateful for his love.
Bob was a loving husband to his wife Michelle; a proud father to his daughter Christina (Steven), son Derek, and stepsons Jeff (Susan), Ryan (Amy), & Daniel (Sarah); and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Carter, Caleigh, Zoey, Zachary, Graham, Cohen, Blair, & Maeve. He is further survived by his sister Susan (Dale), and cherished family members and friends. Bob is united with his parents Kathryn and Edwin Lauber, and generations of saints.
MAY HIS KIND AND GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE NOW WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER
