Dennis Charles McNeill Sr. passed away February 19, 2025. Dennis was born on August 24, 1951, to Charles and Jean McNeill in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from CSU (Cleveland State University) with a B.S. in Mathematics; Dennis was one of 26 brewers to be selected to the prestigious Siebel Institute of Technology (Chicago, IL) Master Brewers School. After graduation, Dennis began his long career in the brewery business, eventually becoming a Master Brewer for Schmidt’s of Philadelphia (Cleveland, OH) and Anheuser Busch (Houston, TX / Fort Collins, CO).
Although Dennis moved to Fort Collins in 1987, he remained a faithful Cleveland sports fan. He traveled with his sons to the 1995 Cleveland Indians World Series, but was unfortunately never able to see his beloved Cleveland Browns go to a Super Bowl.
He was known for his wry humor and jokes that were often repeated and always enjoyed. He was most fond of spending time with friends at his favorite places with his Budweiser in hand, an eye on the game, cultivating new and lasting friendships.
Dennis leaves behind his children, Ryan McNeill, and Julie McNeill who he adored.
He is predeceased by his son, Dennis McNeill Jr., and his sister, Mary McNeill. He also leaves his sister Patty Grasson(Mike), and brothers Kenny McNeill(Agi), and Tim McNeill(Colleen); his longtime friend and partner, Mary Ann Karpowicz as well as many, many others good enough to call Dennis McNeill a friend.
A memorial gathering of friends and loved ones to honor the life of Dennis McNeill Sr. will take place at the Elks Club (B.P.O.E.) 1424 E. Mulberry St, Fort Collins, CO 80524 at 3 p.m. on Saturday March 22nd.
