Dylan Cohle Keating, also known as Pickle, was born December 17th, 1992, in Chicago Illinois at Cook County Hospital. He was the beloved son of Ruth and William Keating, the beloved younger brother to Bryan Keating. Dylan was a proud father to his daughter Brooke Keating and the beloved uncle to his brothers four kids Koral, Max, Mia, and Oliver Keating. Dylan was adored by his many aunts and uncles which he made many memories with, his Uncle Ron, Uncle Ernie, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Johnny, Uncle Timmy, Uncle Hector, Uncle Jesse, and of course his aunties. Great Aunt Linda, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Lois, Aunt Tina, Aunt Dawn, Aunt Patty, Aunt Cathy, and Aunt Carol. Dylan had many cousins and friends that loved him dearly.
Dylan may have had many rough days, but his daughter Brooke was his light on his darkest days. He loved her with all his heart and soul. He had the strength to share his daughter's love with her mom in another state and always looked forward to her visits every few months.
Dylan was not only a father, but he was a baby brother to Bryan, they loved to play video games together and have snow days with the dogs. They were always together goofing off and causing trouble for their parents. They may have been years apart, but they connected in ways only they would understand. They shared learning about cars from their father Bill who taught him how to drive stick shift at the age of eight years old.
His Father, known as Bill, taught Dylan all his witty personality, his car knowledge, knicks and tricks, and his smooth attitude. He was his dad’s biggest pain in the ass.
Dylan had a sweet side to him that comes from his mother Ruth. His mother passed on her creative skills to help him build anything in life. His mother shared that as soon as the sun was up Dylan would say “Mom wake up, the sun is up, and you need to be awake.”
Dylan was an uncle to two nieces and two nephews, Koral as the oldest, made many memories with him throughout the years. He would always let her come over for hugs even if it was two in the morning, he never let her go home or hung up the phone upset and would always make his silly jokes to make her smile and laugh, he would always come over to help her clean, make food, or just be together. He was always there for her when she needed him, he was her light in the dark. Max as the second oldest, also made lots of memories throughout the years. Dylan and him were sitting on the couch playing a game when Max's person started to drift and couldn't stay straight and Max had said “I have stick drift” and Dylan said “drifty stick” and that has been an ongoing inside joke between them and Max's nickname ever since. Dylan's brother Bryan and his wife Millie recently gifted him the opportunity to meet his youngest niece Mia and nephew Oliver. When Mia saw him, she went right to him and gave him a big hug and from that day forward Mia called him “Unka Dylan,” and Dylan's heart would melt with joy knowing he had two young babies that loved him from first sight.
Dylan was a happy soul, he shared his smile and his laughter with everyone around him, he treated his friends like family and took pride in lifting others up. Dylan was a big jokester that used his sarcasm in his own little ways to show that he loved you. He was the type of person you could always count on and go to in times of need; he was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter how big or how small the job may have been. Dylan had an old soul and loved listening to the old classic music like Frank Sinatra, Etta James, and Dean Martin. He was always playing music and singing in the car with his family. Dylan was an avid dog and flamingo lover who quickly bonded with any animal he crossed paths with, he loved to be outdoors and enjoyed camping and exploring with his friends and family. Dylan was always ready for an adventure and was willing to go anywhere, anytime, with anyone, he was a very outgoing person with an outgoing personality.
Dylan left his mark with everyone he crossed paths with his charming looks, bright smile, and big laugh. Dylan had many names but the one name that identified him was Pickle. His name will always be remembered as pickle, sweet and sour to everyone. He will be truly missed.
