It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eligah Edward Stokley, age 61, on October 26, 2024, in Loveland Colorado. A devoted father, grandfather, friend, and lover of the outdoors. He left us peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Eligah was born November 15, 1962 in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He spent most of his life living in Mississippi and Alabama until he moved to Colorado to be near his children. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He often went on camping trips with them.
His love for the outdoors was matched by his warmth, humor, and genuine kindness. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He was known by many for his secret recipe ribs. Those who knew him will miss his boundless spirit.
He is survived by his children Misty Stokley Diaz (Manuel), Allyssa Stokley Garcia (Ramon), Eli Stokley, and Benjamin Stokley, his grandchildren Leo Garcia, Adriel Garcia, Josiah Garcia, and his granddaughter who is to arrive in December, his ex-wife Christy Cordova Dubuisson, his siblings Sylvia Chapman, Phillip Dykes, Wayne Dykes, Belinda Hoffer, Sherrell Bozeman, and Gerald Dykes, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Adell Miller Stokley and Horace Stokley, his siblings Harvey Dykes, Vince Stokley, Thomas Stokley, Margie Stokley Williams, and Betty Stokley Belcher.
His legacy of love for his family and the outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to organizations that preserve the outdoors and wildlife. This will honor his memory and love for the outdoors.
Eligah will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever roam the forests and rivers he loved so well.
