

She was born October 26, 19289 to Leonard and Mabel Latimer in Brush, Colorado. She lived in Brush until she was four years old when her family moved back to Corydon, Iowa so that her father could return to farming.
Gwen grew up in Corydon being her dad's right hand "man" on the farm as she had no brothers. Upon graduating high school, she and her sister moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she began her career as a keypunch operator. It was in Des Moines that she met her husband, Gerald Wayne Wooten (Jerry). They married April 10, 1948. They lived in several different cities during their marriage and ultimately moved to Colorado in 1969.
Gwen continued her keypunching career while raising their five children. Gwen and Jerry also loved the Lord and were very active in their local church. Gwen loved children especially infants and loved spending time with them.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and their spouses, Jean (Max) Nickel, Marjorie (Les) Gideon, one grandson, Jared Phyillaier, and one great grandson Cody Emerson. She is survived by one sister Annabelle (Carl) Hagan, her five children, Marilyn (Rick) Emerson of Springfield, MO, Larry (Pat) Wooten of Nixa, MO, Linda (John) Phyillaier of Windsor, CO, Jerri (Tom) Oliver of Nunn, CO and Beverly (Brian) abell of Windsor, CO. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, in light of Gwen's love for children, memorial gifts may be given to the family which will be donated at a later time to Focus on Family's children's program in her memory.
