Ivadene Jones

She was born to Harold and Martha Cole in Austin, MN on October 12, 1938. Ivadene grew up in Dexter, MN and graduated from Elkton High School in 1956. She was married at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA, to Jim Jones, the love of her life, on November 21, 1956. They were married for 61 1/2 years until Jim passed away in 2018. They were truly soulmates for life and what a joy it is for mom to be reunited with him in Heaven!

Ivadene was a homemaker and devoted her life to her husband, 5 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to play bridge, any card game, bowling, cooking and baking, especially at Christmas, country music, and traveling to Las Vegas, Branson, Missouri, and Arizona. We can’t forget their trips to Blackhawk, with their family many times. Mom was very content with a roll of pennies, and she could sit there at the machine for hours, chatting and socializing with those around her! She was always the life of the party and brought joy to others until the day she died! Mom and Dad danced together their whole lives and attended over 100 country music concerts together.

Along with her husband Jim, Ivadene is preceded in death by her son Brad, her parents, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters Tami Bruntz (Bob) of Greeley, CO, Terri Jones of Sundance, WY, Sherri Holder (Ed) of Loveland, and Marci Schwerdtfeger (Paul) of Loveland; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom’s most memorable quote: “Wherever you may be, let your farts go free!” (We know mom would enjoy having the last laugh!)
