John Robert Lillibridge

At 10 years of age, John attended Mt. Lowe Military Academy. At 13 he attended Army Navy Academy, and later graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, CA. After briefly attending Glendale Community College, he began his lifelong career at NBC.

John started working on the receiving dock, then switched to videotape production as a scheduler of 150+ staff, and processed payroll for the department. He had a natural ability to interact with clients and employees and was well liked and respected. With his genuine spirit of caring, he developed many lasting NBC friendships. John later went on to manage the post production department for NBC Entertainment Marketing, responsible for the engineers and facilities. He retired in 2016 as a Senior Director, with 38 years in the entertainment industry.

John met his wife Karen at NBC Burbank in 1986. Their home was in Canyon Country, CA. Along with their children Stephanie and Jeff, they enjoyed many family cruises & vacations near and far. John & Karen both retired from NBC Universal and started a new chapter of life by moving to Windsor in 2017. With a lake beyond the backyard, he pursued his love of fishing almost daily. John’s other interests included zip lining, hot air ballooning, building model ships and airplanes, and attending numerous Cirque du Soleil events. He enjoyed volunteering for church activities including Vacation Bible School, the annual Christmas Community Outreach Festival, and as a guide for families wanting to catch their own fish dinner from a trout stocked lake in front of a local restaurant.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen of Windsor; daughter Stephanie of Littleton, CO; son Jeff of Highlands Ranch, CO; mother Louise Lillibridge-Nies of Palmdale, CA; and his sister Carol Granlund (Ray) of Palmdale, CA. John is predeceased by his father Robert W. Lillibridge.

John had a passion for helping others, an affable personality and a love for his wife and family. We all miss him dearly.
