Judith Ann "Judy" Young, age 84, peacefully passed away at home on January 22, 2026. She was born on September 1, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa, to Emil J Luckritz and Marie C. Luckritz (Geronzin). Though born in Iowa, Judy spent the majority of her life in Fort Collins, Colorado, which she proudly called home.
Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. Family was always at the center of her life, and she will be remembered for her warmth, steady presence, and the love she freely gave to those closest to her.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Michael Young and Christopher B. Young. Jeffrey is married to Billy Bates, and together they are lovingly raising their two young children, Leilani Bates- Young and Kawika Bates- Young. Christopher is married to Tonya Young and is the father of Jade Winder, who is married to Tyler Winder and together they have two children; Madison Stroup, married to Zach Stroup, with whom she has one child; and Lily Kimrey.
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Sinnett (Young). Michelle's family includes her son Taylor Ritchie, who is married to Christie Ritchie, and together they have three children; and her son Chase Ritchie, who is married to Shannon Arledge.
Judy was formerly married to Ronald Young, with whom she shared the joy of raising their children.
Professionally, Judy worked for many years as a loan processor and closer for mortgage companies, where she was respected for her attention to detail and strong work ethic.
In her personal life, Judy embraced friendship and routine. She was a member of several bridge clubs, and avid reader, and deeply cherished her weekly luncheons with her ladies' group. She especially looked forward to her two annual trips each year- one to Fort Myers, Florida, and the other to Lake Okoboji, Iowa- both of which brought her relaxation, happiness, and treasured memories.
Above all, Judy will be remembered for her deep love of her family, her kindness, and her enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. Her legacy lives on through the generations she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched.
A memorial service followed by lunch will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 am
