

He was born July 16, 1930 in Wattsburg, PA to the late Lawrence Truman Allen and Mildred Elizabeth Allen.
Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force as Airman First Class at Spangdahlem Air Base during the Korean War. He was part of the First Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. Once home, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Upon completion he worked for both Capitol Airlines and then began a long career with United Airlines. He was a Master Mechanic and had security clearance for dignitaries. Larry was a humble man and his family only began to hear of his many accomplishments near the end of his life. His opportunities were endless yet he chose to be a family man.
Larry, along with his wife Madeline were longtime members of Galilee Baptist Church in Denver and once retired attended Faith Church in Loveland. He enjoyed giving to organizations that served and helped children. He was an active donor of the Republican Party. Larry enjoyed gardening, working on motors and projects. He could fix any piece of machinery.
In addition, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce Allen of Georgia and Herbert Allen of North Carolina.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Madeline: Children Mike (Joann), Kathy (Mike), Kimberly (Bobby) and his grandchildren, Mike, Lena, Joshua, Rachel, Tim, Bri, Colin, Reyna, Kyle, October, Lauren, Josiah, Taylor and Thatch, Aric, Maggie, Andrew, Amanda, and Alyssa. Also his great grandchildren Faith, Blair Rose, Alivia, Marley, Gus, Millie, and Alice.
Larry raised his children with values and strength. He was faithful to the Lord making sure that his family was at church every Sunday. He would tell each of you to press on.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins. Treasured memories of Larry and words of condolence for his family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
