

Lelah Corrine Headley, 90, died February 22, 2018, at Sava Senior Care’s Fort Collins Health Care Center. Lelah was born Oct. 25, 1927 in Fairfield, Illinois, to LaVerl and Beulah (Harris) Majors. She married Christopher Leonard Headley November of 1943, in Illinois just prior to Christopher leaving for a combat assignment in Europe during World War II.
When her husband returned from the war, the couple moved to Rocky Ford to be near Lelah’s family. From Rocky Ford, Chris and Lelah lived in several places in Colorado, Kansas, and Montana with their daughters Wanda and Donna. In Colorado, they lived in Pueblo, La Junta, Castle Rock, Firestone, and Walden before settling in and retiring in Mead in 1982.
Lelah was a devoted wife to her husband Chris and was a homemaker for him and her two daughters. She enjoyed time with her family and especially cherished the large family gatherings in Berthoud, Mead, and the occasional trips back to Illinois for family visits.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Christopher; her parents; her infant son, Larry Ray; brother, Ivan Elmo Majors; brothers-in-law, Jack Beach and Charles McCleskey; sister-in-law, Mae Majors; and son-in-law, Don Williams.
Survivors include: her daughters, Wanda Williams of Tullahoma, TN and Donna Rich of Walden, CO; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Lola McCleskey of Lafayette, Colorado and Nadine Beach of Thornton.
Memorial Gathering to celebrate Lelah’s life will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, with a 1pm viewing.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Fort Collins Health Care Center for their wonderful care of Lelah while she resided there.
