Born on June 22, 1940, in Barada, Nebraska, to William David Duncan and Opal Bernice Honea, Marilyn was raised alongside her brother and two sisters.
On July 30, 1960, Marilyn married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Baudendistel of Rulo, Nebraska. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. With a high school education and a strong work ethic, Marilyn became a quality control inspector for Sherwood Enterprises in Longmont, Colorado.
Marilyn’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She found joy in studying the Word of God, spending time with family, and crocheting. Always giving of herself in quiet, meaningful ways, her kind heart touched all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a beloved aunt, and a cherished friend.
She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, William and Bernice Duncan; her brother, William “Bud” Duncan; her beloved son, Marion Baudendistel; and her daughter-in-law, Monica Baudendistel. We take comfort in knowing they are together again in the presence of the Lord.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Robert (Bob) Baudendistel; her sisters, Helan Shubert and Karilyn Robinson; her sister-in-law, Linda Duncan; her sons, Mike (Jenn) Baudendistel and Marvin Baudendistel; and her many grandchildren: Brandi, William (Billy), Chad, Cody (Nikki), Desarare, Dominique, Lewis, Ashley, Christina, Sharelle, Jenifer, Jaysen, Emma, and Ryver. She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Marilyn’s legacy of faith, love, and grace will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Christ Jesus, and we look forward to the day we will see her again.
“Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
