Merca Zamora

Merca Zamora was born September 24, 1926, at Nazareth, Texas, to Esteban Zamora and Elvira Sandoval Zamora. He died March 20, 2009 in his daughter's home in Ft. Collins. He married Emma Balderas on October 11, 1945, in Plainview, Texas. They lived in Portales, New Mexico, before moving to Ft. Collins in 1958. Mr. Zamora was retired from Poudre R-I School District where he was a custodian for 20 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, music and singing.Survivors include his son Richard Zamora of Texas; four daughters, Rita Ramirez of Wellington, Mary Alice Zamora and Pat Zamora of Ft. Collins, and Dora Zamora of Loveland; two brothers; one sister, 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter and one sister.A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday March 24, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
