I worked with Michael during the late 90's / early 00's in my early radio days while in college and starting a family. My little girl would call me while at work and loved it when, "Mah-kle" as she called him, would answer and talk with her. He was such a kind man. Michael was more than my coworker, he was a wise and dear friend. 

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Michael Golden. We raised our kids on Starlight Ramblers and Jerry Jeff Walker music. Starlight Rambler music is played at family weddings and gatherings. To this day, my husband and I make sure we have the "Ain't it the Truth" CD with us for long road trips. 
We will be watching for the Colorado Rose music to come.  Blessings to your family.

My deepest condolences to Michael's family.  After my Dad introduced to me to Michael and Don's radio show, they were my constant companions every time I could listen in.  I learned so much from him over the years during the services in Johnstown and have  fond memories from the Passover services that I was able to attend.  Michael was a blessing to me through his teaching and music.

Michael Golden was widely known as a gifted musician and for his amazing vocals, multi-instrumental talents and a kind heart.  He served in the US Navy from 1966-72 in SE Asia during the Vietnam War where he was exposed to agent orange, which ultimately caused Parkinsonism health issues and his demise.  Michael served as Station Mgr for a local private patriotic radio news network for his last 23 years where he was able to fulfill his call in Christian/Messianic broadcasting teaching and promoting the life giving word of the Bible.  He was married to his wife Dani for the last 17 years of his life.  Even as Michael was nearing his death four more of his archived music CD's were just released on Dec. 31, 2021, one Western and three religious CD's  are now published world wide on every forum possible and two more CD's will be released in April.  

Michael was always so kind to us when we walked into a dance he would play our favorite song, Cowboy Honeymoon. He wasn't alone however, the rest of the band was just as nice and I have fond fond memories of wearing the leather souls off a good pair of boots. Michael's talents with instruments and vocals have not been duplicated in these parts and likely never will. When Michael moved to Nashville looking for the big time, when I would pass through in my semi I would give him a call and check on him, he always was upbeat with a positive attitude and Nashville sure screwed up when they didn't sign him to a big label. You're gonna be missed Pardner, it's enough to make a Cowboy out of you.
