Phillip Phil"" James Higgins

Phil Higgins, Kechter Rd, Ft Collins, CO passed away in Brighton, CO on April 26th. Phil was born in Lincoln, NE on January 10, 1960 and later settled with his family in Loveland, CO.

He joined the Air Force December 2, 1977 and worked as a Construction Equipment Operator until his Honorable Discharge December 1, 1981.

A dedicated, hard worker, Phil worked in construction all of his life, mostly as a sheet metal worker.

He enjoyed rock climbing, trips to the Higgins’ Cabin, spending time with friends & family and listening to music.

Phil was known by all as a generous, kind, and loving man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim and his siblings, Margie & Chuck.

He is survived by his mother, Carol; his siblings, Pat, Kathie, Dave, Rose, Vivian, Wally, Suzi & TJ; his children, Brent (Shannon), Tamra (John), and Amie (Chris); 6 grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to Caroline Higgins, 1122 Redwood Dr, Loveland, CO 80537. Donations will fund the Non-Profit Organization, Higgins Home for Imaginary Friends, which will be a place for kids with mental illness to learn to ride horses (an organization Phil was working hard to start with his daughter Amie).
