Rachel G. Agostino

Rachel G. Agostino, age 91, of Fort Collins, Colo went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2011 with her family by her side.Rachel was born in Bronx, NY on August 22, 1919 the second daughter of Nicholas and Julia Mancuso. She married Vincent (Jim) Agostino on October 23, 1938.Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent in 1991, parents, and sister, Fanny. She is survived by children, Lillian (Bill) Clark and Judith (George) Maestry both of Fort Collins. Grandchildren: Lillian (Mark) Reichert of Fort Collins, and Deborah (Dan) Thinnes of Wellington, Jonathan Maestry of Fort Collins and Anthony (Sheri) Maestry of Windsor. Great-grandchildren: Christopher and Nathan Reichert, Steven and Jenna Thinnes, Rebecca, Jake and Steffanie. Many nephews and nieces: Julie, Kathy, Domanic, Robert, Anthony, Nicholas, Bob, Kathy and special sister-in-law Theresa Agostino. Rachel and husband moved to Fort Collins in 1974 to be with daughters and families. She worked at the Poudre School District for the Food Service Department at Riffenburgh Elementary for twelve years where she met many work friends that kept in touch for many years after retirement in 1984.Rachel enjoyed mostly her family and hobbies of crocheting, quilting, and being an avid reader. She enjoyed going to Cherokee Park with family to their second home nearly each weekend. Rachel will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt to her close family. She shall be missed by all whose lives she shared. Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Resthaven Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice of Northern Colorado, the Salvation Army, or the Disabled American Veterans in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
