Born to Rhinnie and Ruth Whitman in 1957, Robin lived a life defined by honesty, hard work, and a deep love for her family. She graduated from Fort Collins High School and later attended beauty school. While she spent time working with hair, her true and most cherished calling was as a devoted mother and homemaker.
Robin was the ultimate caregiver. Her passion was a pristine house and a vibrant garden. She was a perfectionist who took immense pride in her home and garden. She was a woman who never wasted an hour and always found something productive to do. Known for being "tough as nails" and wonderfully stubborn, Robin believed in doing things the right way. She was genuine and honest, almost to a fault, and she never cared for the pretenses of others.
To Robin, food was love and she cooked with her heart. She was an extraordinary cook who fed family, neighbors, and friends alike. She enjoyed the simple pleasure of shopping just to get out of the house and see what she could find. Above all, she loved her family and she loved taking care of her family.
Robin loved life and she loved living her life. When the cancer diagnosis came, it was so hard on her. It was as if she was reduced to just this illness. It took the life and the light right out of her. Sixty-eight years really isn't enough and Robin deserved more than what she got. Robin was strong and she fought so hard for so long. Cancer really sucks.
Robin will be remembered for her strength and tenacity. She was the kind of person that everyone loved. She will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her husband of nearly 48 years, Russ Carter; her daughters, Brianne Kraft (husband Jason), and Kelsey Moore; and her grandchildren, Maison Kraft, Raelynn Lutchka (Tristan), and Zandra Kraft, Warren Moore and Myla Moore. She is also survived by her brother, Randy Whitman, as well as many cousins and other extended family.
Along with her parents, Robin joins her brother, Riney Jay "RJ" Whitman, in rest.
Please join Robin's family for a Going Away Party on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 1pm-3pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins. There will be a time of remembrance around 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robin’s memory to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
