Ginny was born on Christmas Day, 1934 at the family farm near Osceola, Iowa. Soon after moving to Loveland with her four children, Cheryl Miller-Wolski (Bob Wolski), Clifford Miller, Dennis Miller, Sam Miller (Donna), she was hired by Hewlett Packard as employee number 358.
In 1979 she met and married her love for Eternity, Leonard “Lenny” Svoboda. She left HP to begin their dream of traveling while still young. Their first destination was Europe. They soon bought a 37-foot 5th Wheel and for 6 years traveled around the country. They parked and lived in many states to work seasonal jobs, meet many new friends, attend local square dances and explore all the off-beat backroads they could find! They eventually were able to visit all 50 States! Lenny and Ginny settled back in Colorado and started their next passion to buy, restore and sell antiques/collectables at local Flea Markets and Antique Shows. The cold Colorado weather eventually sent them returning to Florida where they lived until Lenny’s untimely death from cancer.
Ginny moved back to Loveland to be closer to family and old friends. She soon made many new friends while she volunteered many hours at McKee and Habitat thrift stores, joined Red Hats, Loveland Senior Singles and always had a card game to play somewhere! She loved to cook, bake, decorate for Holidays, dance, garden and attend to her beautiful flowers, but most of all spend time with her family!
Along with her 4 children she had 6 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. She also loved her brother Ronnie Armstrong (Ginger), sister Joyce Averill (John), sister-in-law Grace Armstrong. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ethel Armstrong, brother Dale Armstrong, beloved husband Leonard “Lenny” Svoboda and grandson Kadin Miller.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to New Mercer Memory Care and Accent Care Hospice. A private burial with family will be scheduled in the Springtime. Memories of Ginny and condolences for her family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
