

Alexander Nowak, of Anaheim Hills, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2014 at the age of 83. Al was born February 27, 1930 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. The son of Thomas and Helen Nowak, he is survived by his three sisters Emily Nowak of Indiana, Betty Scampini of Illinois and Mary Ann Nowak of Illinois. Al was predeceased by his lovely wife of 25 years, Lou Nowak. He leaves behind his ten beloved children Gary Nowak, Bill Ryan, Mike Nowak, Paul Ryan, Bob Ryan, Cathy Reneau, Ron Nowak, Dennis Nowak, Tom Nowak, Dan Ryan and his loyal companion, Major. Msgt. Alexander Nowak served 20 years with the U.S. Marines and retired in 1967. He spent 10 years at Disneyland and then went to work for the U.S. Post Office where he eventually ended his working career. Al loved fishing with his kids, Disneyland, traveling, camping in Idyllwild, playing softball, golfing, bowling and spending time with family. His favorite foods were polish sausage and ribs. The viewing and rosary is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Macaulay & Wallace Funeral Home in Yorba Linda. A funeral mass will be held the following day, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10 am at San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills. The burial ceremony will take place afterwards at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:01pm. Family and friends are invited to a reception to be held at his home in Anaheim Hills, CA. following the graveside service.
