

Charles “Chuck” Robinson passed away on December 19, 2016 at 11:25 p.m. in Fontana, California at the age of 80. He was born in Boone, Iowa on August 17, 1936 to Marion Garfield Robinson and Zella Naomi Miller and was the youngest of nine siblings. After graduating from Boone High School in June 1954, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and honorably served during the Korean War from July 6, 1954 through June 16, 1957. Upon his discharge, he returned to Boone, Iowa and obtained his Associate in Arts Degree from Boone Junior College in May 1959. He briefly resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Fullerton, California where he took on a job at Fullerton Motor Parts as an Auto Parts Counterman. He met the love of his life while working at Fullerton Motor Parts, Francisca “Cisca” de Best and they were married on February 14, 1969. The couple settled into a home in Diamond Bar, California, where he lived for 47 years. In 1973, he began working at the Alpha Beta Distribution Center (now Ralphs) as the Parts Department Manager of the truck shop. He retired in 1998 after 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his life to the fullest, with interests including reading books, watching Angels Baseball and NASCAR, camping in Yosemite, golfing, country western dancing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Chuck is survived by his wife, Francisca Robinson, daughter Melanie Southard, son Mark Robinson, granddaughter Amanda Southard, grandson Adam Southard, and sister Alice Satre. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery, surrounded by his family.
