

Evelyn Carroll Harrington born October 8, 1934, passed away on January 23, 2025, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Evelyn was born in Ringling, Oklahoma. Her family moved west, eventually settling in King City, California when she was in junior high school. She was married to Harold Harrington for 71 years. The two met at a social function at church in King City, California when they were teenagers. Evelyn and Harold have two daughters, Linda Smith and Gayle Helman. Evelyn and Harold moved to Southern California in 1990, to be closer to their two granddaughters. Evelyn is remembered by her family as a loving mom and grandmother who was very active in the local King City church, serving in multiple capacities. Evelyn also taught 4-H cooking and sewing classes. Upon moving to Southern California, she and Harold enjoyed making new friends and were involved in a local church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Ida Carroll and two brothers, Aubrey Dee Carroll and Leland Carroll. She is survived by her husband, Harold, daughters, Linda (Mark), and Gayle (Ric), and granddaughters, Heather Helman and Meagan Helman. Evelyn has three surviving brothers, Curtis Carroll (Mary), of San Lucas, Truitt Carroll of Bakersfield, and Delton Carroll (Rheba) of Bakersfield. The family thanks Belmont Retreat Center Group Home in Yorba Linda, California and VITAS Hospice Care for the excellent care they’ve given Evelyn.
