
Boyd was born January 4, 1924 in Northboro, Iowa and passed away peacefully at his home in Yorba Linda at age 91. He attended Iowa State College where he studied Engineering and played trumpet in the marching band until called into the Air Force. One of the highlights of his military service in World War II was attending Yale University and marching to live music of the Glenn Miller Band whose members were stationed at Yale. By the time of discharge in 1945 he had become a 1st Lieutenant and then resumed his studies at University of Iowa, graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree in 1952. He then joined Kimberly Clark for almost 30 years; five years spent with the International Division in Wisconsin and was transferred to the Fullerton Mill in 1965 where he worked until retiring in 1981. He then joined his wife Kay who had become a real estate broker and together they owned Century 21 Yorba Linda Station and later added Century 21 Town & Country in Corona. His interests were music, following favorite football teams, gardening and earlier in life camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 3 children Mark, Kent and Lynne and was preceded in death by his son Wade. Also surviving is his sister Ann Kubisak (Carl) of Dana Point and brother Norman (Dixie) of League City Texas. A viewing will be held on Saturday August 8, at 11:30am with services to begin at 12:30pm at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Yorba Linda.
