Isabelle (Iz) Schantz passed away peacefully at home with family members on May 24th. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Douglas. The couple loved to travel, touring much of North America in their motorhome, and flying to destinations in Europe, Africa, and Australia. They also enjoyed watching and playing golf.
Doug and Iz were both born in Wisconsin, and started their married life there. But, in 1953, they pulled up stakes and moved to California, eventually settling In Anaheim in 1956. After Doug died in 2002, Isabelle moved to Yorba Linda to live with her eldest son.
She was an avid bridge player for many years, and had a group of friends that shared her enthusiasm. She also was an excellent cook, and loved social gatherings where she could show off her culinary skills.
She is survived by her three sons: Gary, Kurt, and Jeffrey. She also leaves six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
