John Wylie Cox, Jr., Local aviator and author, passed away 3/16/2011 at the age of 91, after a short illness. A combat veteran of WWII & retired Rockwell engineer, John was a member of the RI Flying Club at Fullerton Airport and liked to attend the Monday lunch with other enthusiasts. He lived in Fullerton since 1973 with the love of his life, wife Dixie Wilkinson, who passed in 2007. John was very proud of his self-published story, "Friendly Monster", of his WWII combat experiences as the commander of a B-29 in the Pacific. He is survived by brother Norman Cox, daughters Kendis Cox, Kerry Ince, son Jeffrey Cox, grandson Ross Cox,granddaughter Hannah Complin, and great-grandson Keith Cox.
