

Our beloved Joseph "Joe" Reyes passed away unexpectedly on the evening of October 26, 2015, at St. Jude's Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Joe was born on March 25, 1961 in San Diego, CA and was the middle son of Mary and Gilbert Reyes, Sr. Joe began his career with the California Highway Patrol in October 1989 as an Officer at the Santa Ana Office. In 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant of the Oroville, CA Office and promoted to Lieutenant in 2007. In 2012, he became the Lieutenant Commander of the San Onofre Scales. Joe was known for his wonderful sense of humor, expansive creative story-telling, love of good food and great wine. Rebecca and Joe recently returned from Italy celebrating their 12th year wedding anniversary. Joe's greatest joy was to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He was the co-driver and partner in the Berge-Reyes Off-road race team. He enjoyed cooking, camping, boating and fishing. Joe was a life time Charger Fan and an advocate of insuring they remain in San Diego! Joe is survived by wife, Rebecca; brothers, Gilbert and Jimmy; father, Gilbert Sr.; daughters, Milacha, Rachel, Cindy, Joie, Jenna and 10 grandchildren. The Rosary and Viewing will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015, at McAulay & Wallace Mortuaries, 5 - 8:30 PM (Rosary will commence at 7:00 PM) - 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 3:00 pm at EvFree Church - 2801 Brea Blvd., Fullerton, CA. A private reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (www.wish.org). This was a charity dear to his heart, and helped Joe make a difference in a young man's life. This is also where Joe and Rebecca first met as volunteers in 2000.
