Josephine was born in Nebraska and moved across the country as a youngster with her family in a roadster. She graduated from Anaheim High School in 1934, and while attending Fullerton Junior College, met George, her future husband, at the Placentia Mutual Packing House over summer break. She was well known for her strong faith and attending Womens Aglow. A topnotch homemaker, Josephines cooking, gardening, organ playing, family photographs and sewing including majorette, cheerleading and song leading costumes for her three girls filled her days. She tended to ranch work varying from the care of rabbits and laying hens, to avocado and citrus trees. Her home preserves and boysenberry pies were family favorites, and she was always up for a good game of Pinochle. Family outings included camping in Indio, Carbon Canyon and vacationing in Newport Beach. She and George travelled extensively in later years, but nothing could compare to the warmth of family gatherings at home. Lydia Paulsen skillfully and lovingly cared for her, and the family so appreciates her devotion. We thank her special and loyal friend Joy Robinson, who visited weekly over many years. Vitas Hospice provided solid support, as well as the Placentia Presbyterian Church. All arrangements are entrusted to McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92832.
