Norma is survived by her sons Robert Sperlazzo, Thomas Sperlazzo (Susan), grandsons Joseph Sperlazzo, Peter Sperlazzo (Jessica), step granddaughter Liza Ricco, and two great granddaughters. Norma is also survived by her loving brother and sister-in-law Victor and Fran Fusco, sister-in-law Lou Ann Fusco, and several nieces and nephews.
After graduating from high school, Norma trained and worked as a comptometer operator for Lipton Tea Company. During that time, Norma worked part-time for the Twin-Boro News and Bergen Record newspapers, and made time to be a den mother for her children in the Cub Scouts. Family was everything to Norma and she embraced her vocation totally, faithfully, and lovingly creating a beautiful home rich in tradition and lots of great food.
Norma and John retired to Florida and spent 25 happy years while maintaining her many New Jersey friendships. Norma was a “people person”, very amiable and made many new friends in Florida. Norma loved to crochet and made many beautiful heirloom quality Afghans for her family, and also for many years crocheted booties, hats and blankets for babies in the hospital. Norma loved to travel and made many beautiful scrapbooks for each of her vacations with John. She also made beautiful keepsake scrapbooks for her children. They moved to California in 2019 to be closer to family.
Norma will be remembered for her generous heart, love for her family, and her ability to make genuine and lasting friendships.
