

He was born in Brawley, CA on February 7, 1927. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy serving as an Electronic Technician Seaman for 1.5 years, and then attended University of California, Berkeley where he met his future bride, Mary Louise Slater. He was a member of the ATO fraternity and received an electrical engineering degree. He and Marylou married on May 6, 1950 and lived in northern California for 5 years. Their next move brought them to Inglewood, CA for a brief period and then to Arcadia, CA for 20 years. Bill’s professional career as a mechanical motors salesman allowed him to travel across the country and live in many cities but he always chose to keep his family in California. His last stop was Fullerton, CA where he lived in his cur-rent home for over 40 years. When his children were grown, he was able to fulfill his passion for sailing and bought his own sailboat. His many trips out of Newport Beach and to Mexico with competitive sailing teams were a highlight of his life. He also enjoyed his travels to several countries and many cruises.
He was preceded in death by his son Steven and granddaughter Kimberly Perkins. He is survived by his wife Marylou, children Ken, Nanci (Perkins), Carol (Ramirez), John, Jo-anne (Chapman). Grandchildren Kyle Perkins, John Dean and Christian Markling, Leah and Liam Ramirez, Hannah Roe, Kayla Agopian, Christopher Chapman. Great grandchildren Chase and Jett Perkins, Zion Roe.
On Thursday, December 28th at 10 am, a Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Angela Merici Church in Brea followed by his burial at Loma Vista Cemetery, Fullerton.
