

William (Bill) Byron Rackliffe passed away at his residence at Crescendo Assisted Living on October 17th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was 91 years old. Born May 1st, 1927 he was preceded in death by his wife Victoria, his parents Arthur Forrest and Jesse Ruth, and his siblings Arthur Rackliffe and Doris Siegel. He has one surviving sister, Roberta Dallas of Menifee, 98. Bill was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to reminisce about all of the wonderful times his family shared. He could laugh easily at a good joke, and was curious about travel and changes in the world. His friendly nature was enjoyed by everyone. Growing up in Norwalk, Ca., Bill went to Excelsior High School where he was a varsity tennis player and led his team to many victories. He was stationed in Panama during his 2 years in the Army and worked as a clerk after volunteering that he could type. His competitive tennis ability allowed him to get matches promoted between him and the generals at his base. Back in California, he met and married Victoria Mercer, and they had six children. They eventually moved out to Orange County to raise their family. He worked as a route manager for Barbara Ann and Weber’s Bread Companies. Bill is survived by his children; Pamela Randolph, Sherri Barham, Dana McKenna, David Rackliffe, Wendy Rackliffe and Lori Rackliffe, along with 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA. 92832 on Monday, October 29th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Olive Lawn Memorial Cemetery in La Mirada.
