Bertha Jane Broderick

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Bertha Jane Broderick departed this earthly life peacefully at the age of 85. Born in Gaithersburg, MD on February 24, 1938 to the late Russell I. Mullican, Sr and Margaret B. Mullican, Jane grew up in Derwood, MD and attended Richard Montgomery High School. Upon graduation, Jane was hired as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone and went onto spend her 40 year career proudly serving in leadership roles at Bell Atlantic and Verizon.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William J. Broderick, Jr. Jane is survived by her daughter, Cathy; son-in-law, John and grandchildren, Erin and Griffin; her sister, Naomi, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Jane on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 1:00PM at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 201 S. Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 with Father David Wells presiding. There will be overflow parking options across from the church on 355 (Frederick Road).
