Frederick Johnson, Jr, 85 of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. He was born in Charles Town, WV on September 12, 1936 to the late Frederick, Sr. and Bertha Everhart Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School Class of 1955. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 where he would meet his wife Agnes during this time. They moved to Wheaton, MD where Fred had a 30 year career with the Washington Post. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 64 years Agnes Amato Johnson; their two sons David Johnson and his wife Jennifer, and Mark Johnson and his wife Karen; two granddaughters Mary and Faith Johnson, and a sister Barbara Tompkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters Linda Davis, Norma Sullivan and Mary Ellen Pitrone. A memorial service will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
