

Joseph Urban Jagemann passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on September 26, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1933 to the late Walter H. Jagemann and Maria (Mayr) Jagemann. After proudly serving in the US Army he married the love of his life, Patricia (Topping) Jagemann on January 24, 1959 and over the next 66 years, they raised a large, beautiful family, of which they were immensely proud.
Joseph was born and grew up in Yonkers NY. After serving in the US Army, he returned to New York and earned his Bachelor's degree in Business from Pace University in New York City, NY. After graduation he began working for IBM, moving to Gaithersburg, MD in 1973 to continue working in their newly established Maryland branch. Retiring in 1992, he spent his time volunteering with various organizations, traveling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his beautiful artwork, his love of the Christmas season, his pride in his German/Austrian heritage, his appreciation of the little things in life, but most importantly being the model of a patriarch.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his brother Walter Jagemann and his great granddaughter Anastasia Kessler.
A loving Dad to four children, Mary McCarthy (Mike), Barbara Olsson (Chuck), Jim Jagemann, and Joe Jagemann (Christina). A devoted and proud “Papa” to eight grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica), Sharon, Caitlin, Keri, Patrick (Kelsy), Samantha, Ava and Anika, and five great grandchildren, Lily, Ivy, Bella, Benjamin and Nova. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews residing in California, Florida, New York, North Carolina and Texas well as numerous relatives living in the vicinity of Wolfratshausen, Germany.
Services for Joseph will be held Thursday October 9th, at St.Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland; with public viewing at 10:30 am, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:30 am.
