Mary Christine Castiglia Worch

Mary Worch passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2024, surrounded by family. She was married to Robert ‘Denny’ Worch just shy of their 55th wedding anniversary. She was the proud mother of Christian (Maureen), Michael (Patti), Ryan (Kristen), and Katherine (Mason). Her proudest role was being called ‘Grandmere’ to her 16 grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

Mary is survived by her seven sisters and one brother and preceded in death by her parents James ‘Big Jim’ and Catherine Castiglia. She was an educator for 40+ years, during which she was the Head of School at the Woods Academy in Bethesda, MD for 16 years. Mary’s network of friends extended far and wide. She grew up in the Washington area attending St. Ann’s Catholic grade school in DC, followed by attending St. Joseph’s Academy in Hanover, PA, and graduating college with a master’s degree in education from Trinity College in DC. She lived and raised her family in Rockville, MD for most of her adult life. She was currently residing at Bayside in Selbyville, Delaware.

Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 917 Montrose Road, in Rockville, MD on Thursday 3/21/24 from 5:00pm-7:00pm followed by her Celebration of Life Mass on Friday 3/22/24 at 1:00pm (PLEASE BE AWARE THE FUNERAL MASS TIME HAS CHANGED to 1:00pm)
