

Patricia Jagemann, beloved mother and teacher, passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family at Village Crossing in Frederick, Maryland. She was born on December 24th, 1937, in the Bronx, New York to the late Joseph S. and Lillian (Maltz) Topping.
As a child she attended St. Barnabas Catholic School. As a teenager she enjoyed playing tennis with her brother Ronnie, where she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Joe. She and Joe were married in January of 1959 and for 66 years led a charmed life together. Family was very important to Pat, and she devoted herself to raising her four children; keeping them a tight-knit family filled with joyous birthdays, holidays and family vacations.
After the children were grown, she and Joe spent their retirement years traveling; first overseas, then traveling the United States and enjoying all the beauty of our country.
In addition to raising her family, Pat enjoyed working with children, receiving a teaching degree from Hunter College in New York City. She worked at various schools in the Montgomery County School System from 1978 until 2001 as a Teacher’s Aid to the mentally disabled.
As a devout Catholic, Pat volunteered her time at the church as a CCD Teacher and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed spending time with her neighborhood friends at their community swimming club, playing cards with her bridge club and hosting and attending neighborhood parties.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents Joseph S. and Lillian (Malz) Topping, her husband Joseph who passed away 6 days earlier, her brother Ronald Topping and her great granddaughter Anastasia Kessler.
She is survived by her four children Mary McCarthy (Mike), Barbara Olsson (Chuck), James Jagemann and Joseph Jagemann (Christina); her eight grandchildren Christopher (Jessica), Sharon, Keri, Samantha, Patrick (Kelsy), Caitlin, Anika and Ava; and her five Great Grandchildren Lily, Ivy, Bella, Nova, and Benjamin.
She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews residing in California, Florida, New York, North Carolina, and Texas.
Services for Pat will be held Thursday October 9th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland; with public viewing at 10:30am, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:30am.
