

Of Washington DC, died on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Paul was born in Paris, France, on May 29, 1964. He was a resident of Falls Church, Virginia, from 1966 until 2015 and moved to Washington, DC, in 2015, where he resided with his husband until his sudden death. Paul was a dedicated first-grade teacher for 30 years at Louise Archer Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia. His teaching excellence earned him three Teacher of the Year nominations in Fairfax County. Paul’s hobbies included photography, birdwatching, blogging, and podcasting. He was a devotee of Apple technology and curated an impressive collection of Apple computers. Paul and his husband Warren were active in the Virginia wine community. They began documenting their adventures in the Virginia wine world almost 20 years ago on a Virginia Wine Time blog. Paul made friends wherever he went and lit up every room with his warm smile and easy laughter. He will be dearly missed.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Mae Armstrong (nee McNally), and his father, Fred Armstrong. Paul is survived by his devoted husband, Warren Richard. Paul and Warren were committed partners for 19 years and married in 2015. Paul is also survived by six loving siblings and their spouses including Susie Needham (John), Brian Armstrong (Suzette), Carol Menavich (Joe), Tom Armstrong (Kim), his twin brother George (Elizabeth), and Tricia Marstin (Kelvin). Paul was the proud uncle of four nieces and four nephews. Paul did not have a favorite charity, but please consider donating to the American Heart Association.
