Robert Lee Davis

Robert “Bob” Lee Davis, 82, died peacefully on March 12, 2023 at his home in Brookeville, MD surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Fairmont, WV on April 24, 1940 to Sidney and Mary (Colebank) Davis.

He was the younger brother of Edward Davis. Bob graduated from Fairmont Senior High School where he excelled as a student and athlete. He attended Fairmont State University where he was a member of the collegiate golf team and Tau Beta Iota social fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships. He went on to serve with the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Orion from 1960-1962.

On August 5, 1961 Bob married the love of his life, Lilly Ann Majetic of Barrackville, WV. They raised four children together and were happily married for 45 years. Over the years, Bob worked at US Steel Irvin Works and then became a proud owner of the Antique Rifle Works, Inc.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman and played golf through his retirement years. Bob’s other pastimes over his lifetime included building and competing with flintlock rifles, building computer systems from scratch, playing poker and visiting with friends at the AMVETS.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly, and his brother, Edward.

He is survived by his 4 children, Katherine (Tim), Jennifer (Greg), Andrew (Azadeh) and Elizabeth (Shannon), his grandchildren Joseph and Lilly Comello; Rebecca, Theresa, Christopher and Stephen Billman; Cameron Davis and Joshua McWhorter and one niece, Darlene Davis Tuthill.

Family & friends will be received at the Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with full Military honors.
