

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Scott Forbes on September28, 2024. Born on June 3, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, Robert spent his early years movingaround the Southwest. He began his current life’s journey in Gaithersburg, Maryland, in 1986,where he soon met his beloved wife, Jacqueline, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years.
Robert was well-known in the community for his dedicated service as the main driver at TheVillage at Rockville, where he provided rides to residents and the Health Center for over adecade. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, always remembering their namesand needs. His commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
.In addition to his community service, Robert had a long history of involvement in ministry. Hewas a lead guitarist for the Spanish ministry at Christian Life Center for many years, where heplayed a key role in the growth of their Spanish outreach under Bishop Ron Libby. He was alsoan active choir member and participated in the door greeting ministry. Robert contributed tovarious organizations, including the Central Union Mission and the Gospel Rescue Mission,and was a proud member of the men's ministry and prayer group. His passion for ministryextended to working with Central American refugees for the last 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, and their loyal “guard dog,” Sheba. Robert was a proudfather of four children: Lara Ecker (Wade) and their three children, Astrid, Rowan, and Isla;Reese Forbes (Shawn) and their two sons, Roman and Drake; Michael Forbes (Elise); and AlanForbes. He is also survived by his siblings: Greg (Laura) Forbes, Lisa (Charlie) Bumstead, Jenna(Ed) Hudson, and Chris (Kazuko) Forbes, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Additionally, he is remembered by his sweet wife's siblings: Caroline Botsford, Mark (Marcela)Botsford, and Alan (Minako) Botsford.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Zita Lee Forbes, who passed away on August 10,2022. He is survived by his father, Robert Lee Forbes. He cherished his family deeply and wasa constant presence in their lives.
Robert’s dedication to his community and family, along with his humble, servant's heart, will beremembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on in the manylives he touched throughout his lifetime.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at Christian Life Center in Ijamsville,MD, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
