Of Washington, DC , 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 26, 2018. Born in Laurel Hollow, Long Island, New York he was a long-time resident at The Westchester in upper northwest. He is survived by his spouse, Edward Michael "Mike" Taliff, and long-time friend and companion, Theodore A. Hamilton, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father John Sr., brother John Jr., and mother Rosina.
Thomas, an avid orchid developer, was a member of the American Orchid Society and many of his orchids won AOS national awards. He frequently displayed his award-winning orchids in the OB Lobby for Westchester residents to enjoy.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 3rd for close friends and neighbors at the Luther Place Memorial Church, 1226 Vermont Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20005. Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the Holiday Room of The Westchester.
