He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivy Lee Britt and Rachel Parrish and brother, James Ivy Britt. Mr. Britt was employed with the Board of Education for 44 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rose Mary Britt; children, James Lee Britt (Renee), Christina McCartha (Mark, Sr.) and Faith Shepard (Chris); nine grandchildren; sister, Martha Carter (Jesse, Sr.) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Homes & Crematory in Garden City.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
